After the initial consultation, Gail will be able answer any questions about the treatment plan and expectations the client should have.

Adrienne Borden, A.P., Gail's sister, shares the office with her and offers a variety of natural therapies, including: Acupuncture, vitamins, chinese herbs, supplements and nutritional advice. Clients have the option of doing individual Acupuncture or Hypnosis treatments. Also, you can experience what these talented sisters have developed: "The Borden System". They have discovered a powerful mind/body treatment that combines Hypnosis and Acupuncture simultaneously!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
Hypnosis is a state of mind characterized by relaxed brain waves and a state of hyper-suggestibility. Hypnosis is a perfectly normal state that just about everyone has experienced. What we call "highway hypnosis" is a natural hypnotic state. You drive somewhere and don't remember driving past landmarks or exits...you are on "automatic pilot". The natural hypnotic state also exists when you become so deeply involved in a book, TV show, or some activity that everything else is blocked out. Someone talks to you and you don't see or hear them! That's hypnosis. Whenever you concentrate your mind that strongly, you automatically slip into the natural hypnotic state. It's safe and very relaxing.
CAN EVERYONE BE HYPNOTIZED?
No, but most can. Once a client understands the facts and fallacies of hypnosis, they feel more comfortable and receptive. Some people who have difficulty relaxing, are first taught to relax.
HOW DO I FEEL WHEN I AM HYPNOTIZED?
Some feel a little drowsy, similar to the state between awake and asleep. Some feel as though they are "daydreaming", very comfortable and extraodinarily relaxed. You will not go to sleep or be unconscious at any time. Hypnosis is not sleep. In most cases the subject is fully aware of everything being suggested and is able to respond either verbally or with a signal. There is no surrender of mind control. You are in control! The hypnotist does not possess any unusual or super normal power. The subject actually hypnotizes themselves. The hypnotist is only a guide to help the subject achieve his/her desires. A person who does not want to be hypnotized cannot be hypnotized or be induced to do or say anything which violates personal standards or behavior or integrity.
WILL HYPNOSIS BE EFFECTIVE FOR ME?
There is no absolute guarantee with anything. But, the more positive you are, the more you participate in the program, the more successful your results will be. Reinforcement is the most effective means, and is accomplished by multiple sessions and self-hypnosis techniques and CD's for home use. At The Borden Wellness Center, we have had over 34 years of experience helping thousands of people. Feedback from clients, has us at about a 85% to 95% success rate on most of our programs.
CAN I USE HYPNOSIS INSTEAD OF REGULAR MEDICAL TREATMENT OR PSYCHOTHERAPY?
It depends on what you are trying to accomplish. The hypnotist must first be informed of any other treatments in order to evaluate the proper procedure. In some cases, hypnosis will only be used with the approval and cooperation with your physician or therapist. Hypnosis is not a substitute for medical treatment, but can be affective as a support therapy.
